I’m Jo, and I write Young-Adult Fantasy about whimsical characters in vintage worlds where dark magic lurks beneath the surface. Some of my favourite things include mysteries and magicians. I also love to devour all the history books (and cake). And when I’m not reading or writing, I’m a cake-shop assistant and a mum to my three children.

Back in my teens, I was a shy kid who struggled to make friends, and when things got tough, I often turned to fiction for comfort. Stories of brave characters stumbling into strange worlds and forming unlikely friendships have always been my inspiration, and along the way in life I realised a couple of things; we all possess storybook courage, and new friends can appear when we least expect them.

 

Now, I write my own stories where characters await to charm hearts and raise spirits (literally if they happen to be a kooky necromancer or something).
